Supari is an interesting concept, amusing and a fresh breather from all the internet phenomenal games like Texas hold’em poker, mafia wars, Farmville etc. The most interesting thing is the real life element which has been introduced in it.
Brief information about Supari-
Supari is a street wars game where you hunt down and assassinate your target with a water pistol or water balloon. Its 4 weeks long, 24/7, and is played throughout the city. You take up a Supari challenge, exterminate your target and inherit his targets, and then you become the DON by killing everyone playing the game!!
Though the game is in its initial stages, it has already been a raging success in places like Vancouver and Paris. Over the past decade we have seen extreme addiction to internet, and the fact is social networking sites have only added to the cause. The phenomenon has caused people to determine their social status through all these factors. The game is an initiative to bring in the old concept of outdoor fun but with a precaution because people will not sacrifice internet specifically, so it can be called a major step towards the re-orientation of the outlook of people regarding their life other than internet socializing.

Anna phenomena -an awakening or a stupor!!!

These two pages are so diverse in nature that the common man will be only left with anguish on the matter of anti-corruption. Supporting someone is a wise call, but people are almost drawing battle lines on the Anna Hazare phenomena. Our country has always needed a wise old man to lead us from the depth of delirium to the heights of greatness.
Media has of course sensationalized the entire scenario, Annaji has become like a front man of a band on whom the entire focus has been given. It’s an absolute shame if you look at both the pages people supporting Annaji are shouting slogans, giving due regards to his eminent greatness and those against Annaji have not made any less efforts in calling the movement a farce.
I have often been amused with the people’s comment, for example- A gentleman from Delhi feels that now we should mint hazare’s face on the Indian rupee and another person posted the link of “I don’t support Anna Hazare” on the “I support Anna” page to create a movement to convince facebook to ban the page.
This is absolutely foolish, no one is even discussing what Anna wants of the country, and I am left wondering that people with access to internet and basic knowledge of the current affairs are indulging in such not so intellectual activities.
I don’t deny the fact that Anna has been the inspiration for such a movement after the last JP movement in 1971, but we need to get moving from the notion of following blindly what Anna says, the new media has given us various advents for research, I believe all of us should go into greater depths and understand the perspectives of the subject properly and make an Anna out of ourselves. The country needs a 1000 awakened annas rather than 1 Anna with 1000 blind supporters. Blind support is often fatal, let’s hope and wish the netizens opt for a more constructive discussion and help the cause.
